Preparing for a maternity session

Give me an hour and I'll make the memory of early motherhood even more beautiful.

I invite you to a maternity session, both in my studio and outside. With my work I want to make you, your partner and your little one happy.

I usually take maternity photos between 6 and 8 months, when the belly is clearly defined and the mother-to-be is comfortable. Also in the 9th month it is no problem to meet. It all depends on how you feel. We usually schedule a session a month in advance. I do sessions in the studio and outside.

I have a lot of maternity styling in my studio (long elegant dresses, maternity bodies and airy fabrics). Of course, I also encourage you to bring your favorite clothes (soft colors, loose shirts, leather or denim jackets look interesting) or underwear for more sensual photos.

I propose two styles for joint photos with a partner. The first one is a looser style in a uniform black and white t-shirt in combination with jeans. The second style is more elegant and glamorous :) White shirt, jacket, pants. Colours: gray, black, navy blue. Also think about footwear, so that they match the whole outfit. I recommend simple fabrics, smooth, without patterns, inscriptions or decals, expressive checks or stripes.

A standard pregnancy session takes about 1 - 2 hours, but if you want to feel special that day and you decide to use a makeup artist who works with me, this time will be longer (standard makeup takes about 1 hour).

  • Make-up costs: ask my makeup artist (Makeup by Daxa) in a private message or e-mail.

What to bring

  • Underwear, it is important that the bra has removable straps (skin colour, white, black)

  • Extra accessories that you would like to use in the photos (ultrasound photo, shoes, favorite stuffed animal)

  • A hairbrush

  • Lipstick and face powder (if you don't opt for professional make-up)

How do you prepare?

  • If you book a make-up artist, do not do make-up at home. Wash your face and apply a non-greasy moisturizer, you can apply your favorite mask the day before.

  • If you don't want to use the services of our makeup artist, come to the session with makeup, a little stronger than usual and style your hair, delicate waves or straight hair works well.

  • If you want to put your hair up during the session, you can. You can also add accessories - for example hair bands or decorative clips.

  • Also make sure your nails and toenails look good as we will be doing lots of close-ups of them.

  • Contact me a few days before the session to discuss the details.

  • I can't wait to get to know you and take beautiful photos of you! See you at the session.
